AI staff for the properties that never really close.
WerkX answers the phone, takes the booking and writes the night down — for hotels, resorts, restaurants and serviced apartments, on the systems they already run.
Book a DemoWe spent two years deploying AI into anything. Now we build for one industry.
It is seven in the evening and someone is checking a guest in when the phone starts. The caller wants a room for Friday, gets the hold tone, and books somewhere else. Nobody finds out. The admin that should already be done starts after close, and the enquiry that came in at 2am is still sitting there in the morning.
The systems that held up were the ones where we had spent time behind the counter, and hospitality was where that gap was widest. A resort, a restaurant group and a serviced-apartment operator run on different software and share the same problem: the systems don't talk to each other.
The work is operational, it runs twenty-four hours, and nobody on site has time to teach software how the place actually works. So we stopped selling a horizontal platform and built for this one instead.
Ahmed, Ajmal & Maouz — Co-founders, WerkX
We keep ending up back in hospitality.
Growing up, Ahmed & Ajmal spent their summer breaks visiting the family guest house near the world's tallest mountain range — rooms turning over, guests to look after, the paperwork still going long after the last check-in. Maouz worked at a motel while he was studying.
We went off and built AI for sports, insurance, geospatial and media. The businesses we kept thinking about were the ones we'd spent those summers in.

Systems & voice
Ahmed spent six months driving across Australia, staying mostly in motels. That trip is where this started.
Before it he built the ML and data systems behind Kayo Sports, worked on audience yield and venue engagement at Fox Sports, and on geospatial operations at Nearmap. He's advised a dozen-odd companies across AU/NZ, the US and the UK on running voice AI as a revenue channel rather than a cost line.
He owns the context layer and the voice infrastructure — the part that has to hold up across thousands of calls at once.

Operators & the floor
Ajmal has been through the Pacific and New Zealand more times than he can count, and has put his own money into cafés and hospitality businesses along the way.
He built and ran a services business, spent years as a top sales rep across country and remote Australia, and has spent a long time helping small operators get something useful out of technology without a six-month project attached.
He owns deployment and the operator relationship. On site before go-live, still picking up the phone after it.

Guest voice & reliability
Maouz worked at a motel and a local hospitality business while studying during the week and winning hackathons on the weekends.
He bet on agentic AI while his own field was busy declaring computer science dead, skipped the safe graduate path and took equity over a salary. He doesn't get intimidated by new things — he maps every branch and eliminates until one answer is left.
He builds the guest voice agents and the evaluation harnesses behind them.
Between us
Sports tech, martech, insurtech, geospatial, consumer and B2B SaaS. Two prior founders, one operator, and enough time behind a reception desk to know what a bad night looks like.
Technology is the sidekick. The person at the desk is still the point.
Ajmal
We're putting the experience back into guest service.
Ahmed
I tend to understand a system before I technically understand it.

Who we build for
Tell us about one bad night.
Pick a night that got away from you — the calls nobody could get to, the enquiries still sitting there in the morning, the admin that started after close. We'll show you what WerkX would have done with it. One session, no deck.
